About the Role
The Senior Analyst, Operations FP&A will play a key role in shaping Aviron’s financial insights across our Operations, Supply Chain, and Service functions. This is a high-impact role that bridges Finance and Operations, responsible for delivering accurate reporting, forecasting, and strategic analysis that drive informed business decisions.
You will partner closely with leaders across Operations and Finance to improve cost visibility, assess operational performance, and guide data-driven initiatives that enhance efficiency and profitability.
This position reports to the VP, North American Operations, with a dotted-line to the VP of Finance. The role requires strong cross-functional collaboration and an ability to translate operational performance into financial outcomes.
It's important to note that this role is not your standard 9-5pm type of work. Since this role will collaborate closely with the teams in Vietnam and Taiwan, some evening hours are required for meetings, project work, etc..
Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes for Operations, including logistics, fulfillment, white glove delivery, and service costs.
- Build and maintain driver-based financial models that link operational KPIs (volume, freight rates, returns, installation costs) to financial outcomes.
- Perform scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling to evaluate the impact of operational or pricing changes on cost and profitability.
- Partner with Finance and Supply Chain to ensure forecasts align with business objectives and evolving cost structures.
- Support the VP of Finance in purchase order (PO) tracking, reconciliation, and variance analysis. Ensure PO commitments are aligned with forecasted spend and identify early deviations to improve cash flow visibility and budget accuracy.
- Provide recommendations based on forecast-to-actual variances, helping Operations and Finance teams adjust plans proactively.
Month-End Close & Reporting
- Manage month-end reporting for operational expenses, ensuring accuracy of accruals and allocations in NetSuite.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis versus budget and forecast, identifying cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver recurring performance dashboards and reporting packages for senior leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Operational & Strategic Analysis
- Translate operational data into financial insight, quantifying the impact of initiatives such as 3PL expansion, product launches, or supplier transitions.
- Support capital investment evaluations, process improvement initiatives, and supplier negotiations with data-backed financial models.
- Conduct ad hoc deep dives on cost-to-serve, service cost trends, or 3PL performance to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with teams across Aviron to evaluate operational performance and support strategic decision-making.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate with leaders across Operations, Supply Chain, Service, Product, and Finance to drive financial accountability and transparency.
- Act as a trusted advisor by providing clear, data-driven recommendations that influence operational strategy and execution.
- Support strategic projects and provide financial inputs for cross-functional initiatives, including logistics optimization, returns management, and service efficiency improvements.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy through automation and process improvement.
- Develop tools and templates to improve PO tracking, spend forecasting, and reconciliation workflows within NetSuite and Excel.
- Develop and standardize FP&A processes for scalability as the function grows.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Data teams to improve data visibility across systems and ensure alignment between financial and operational data sources.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
- 5–7 years of FP&A experience, with a focus on Operations, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing Finance.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a hardware, consumer goods, or logistics-driven business is a strong asset.
Growth & Impact
