What You’ll Do:
This role combines e-commerce photography and post-production, studio operations, and digital asset management into a key production function within the creative team. Reporting to the Creative Director, the Digital Studio Technician is responsible for producing fast, consistent, web-ready product photography while building scalable workflows, post-production pipelines, and asset management systems that improve speed, organization, and operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate is highly technical, process-driven, and thrives in fast-paced environments where agility, accuracy, and problem-solving are essential.
How You’ll Do It:
DIGITAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
- Audit and organize the existing DAM and storage environments to align with website product categories and establish style numbers as the primary organizational identifier.
- Develop and defend scalable file-naming conventions, folder structures, and organizational standards for both imagery and video.
- Collaborate with Marketing Operations to develop/refine an intuitive, comprehensive metadata tagging strategy (SKUs, product categories, collection names) so internal teams can instantly locate assets.
- Maintain governance standards across DAM, NAS, and archival environments by enforcing organized creative asset intake and working with cross-functional teams and Marketing Operations on search and file management best practices.
PRODUCTION, POST-PRODUCTION & DELIVERY
- Define and implement standardized post-production workflows that support how the brand scales.
- Support Creative Director, Creative Producer and/or DP at both studio and location shoots with equipment management, general production and lighting support, making selects, and managing tagging and file organization on-the-fly.
- Own post-production grading/color correction.
- Ensure all final images meet web standards, match brand style guides, and are optimized for fast e-commerce loading speeds.
- Deliver assets to DAM with designated name, tags, and metadata.
ECOMMERCE PHOTOGRAPHY
- Lead scheduled PDP studio sessions alongside reactive one-off shoots, delivering crisp, color-accurate product imagery that aligns with brand and web standards.
- Maintain a high degree of flexibility to accommodate urgent, one-off studio requests and last-minute item arrivals without compromising quality.
STUDIO OPERATIONS
- Maintain the physical studio space, manage camera equipment, and establish standardized lighting presets so that rapid shoots look consistent across the site regardless of when they are taken.
What you Need to Succeed:
- 3+ years of professional e-commerce experience in a high-volume product photography studio environment.
- Hands-on experience with modern Digital Asset Management platforms and best practices, with Brandfolder experience strongly preferred; familiarity with Bynder or comparable DAM systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Lightroom) and tethered shooting software such as Capture One.
- Demonstrated ability to build and document workflow processes from scratch.
- Strong communication skills required for cross‑functional collaboration across marketing, including marketing ops, to optimize asset pipeline efficiency.
- Ability to train and enforce workflow standards across cross-functional teams.
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You can seamlessly pivot between scheduled studio sessions and high-priority, quick-turnaround product launches without sacrificing visual quality or data integrity.
- A meticulous eye for both visual pixel-perfection and backend data accuracy (naming, tags, metadata).
- A portfolio of studio photography that demonstrates your technical abilities and shows consistency of approach across styles and silhouettes.
- Ability to commute to our office in North Reading, MA 4x a week
