What You’ll Do:

This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations of BRUNT’s 3PL network while driving efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and cost-effectiveness as the business grows. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, you will work closely with internal and external partners to optimize BRUNT’s outbound distribution, returns management, and inventory accuracy across DTC, wholesale, and retail channels. This role will play a critical part in scaling BRUNT’s distribution capabilities as wholesale and retail become larger parts of the business, while also supporting the evaluation and launch of a second warehouse location.

The ideal candidate will leverage deep warehouse management, 3PL management, and omnichannel distribution expertise to position BRUNT for seamless expansion, enhancing distribution capabilities as we scale across DTC, wholesale, retail, and future distribution locations.

Success in this role means BRUNT’s distribution network operates with best-in-class speed, accuracy, cost control, and scalability. You will ensure our 3PL partners consistently hit SLA expectations, inventory remains accurate and available, returns are processed efficiently, wholesale partners receive compliant and on-time shipments, and the business has clear visibility into distribution performance as we expand into additional locations and channels.

How You’ll Do It:

Warehouse Operations Management:

  • Manage and optimize 3PL warehouse operations and distribution activities across all locations, ensuring SLA compliance, inventory accuracy, and cost efficiency
  • Own the day-to-day relationship with BRUNT’s 3PL, providing timely and consistent communication while holding them accountable for all KPIs and SLAs across, Outbound Distribution, Inventory Management, and returns management
  • Own core distribution KPIs, including on-time ship performance, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, dock-to-stock timing, click to ship, return processing time, refurbishment recovery, cost per order, and cost per unit shipped
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize storage and distribution processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through the implementation of best practices, technology advancements, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Own the quarterly business review process with our 3PL partners, including performance scorecards, action plans, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with 3PL to ensure inventory control measures are in place, including cycle counting, reconciliation processes, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Translate receipt forecasts, product launches, channel demand, promotional calendars, and seasonal peaks into warehouse capacity plans, ensuring 3PL partners have the labor, space, equipment, and operational readiness needed to support BRUNT’s growth.

Outbound Logistics & Distribution

  • Manage all outbound shipment operations, focusing on SLAs to ensure best in class customer experience.
  • Own SOP creation and hold 3PL accountable when it comes to pack out efficiency, ultimately maximizing savings.
  • Optimize small parcel shipping processes to achieve customer facing on-time delivery promises while minimizing shipping costs.
  • Partner with 3PL to improve outbound carrier performance, reduce avoidable shipping costs, and identify opportunities to improve delivery speed and customer experience .
  • Own distribution execution for BRUNT’s growing wholesale and retail channels, including routing guide compliance, retailer-specific requirements, labeling, palletization, ASN accuracy, chargeback prevention, replenishment support, and on-time delivery to key wholesale and retail partners.
  • Partner closely with 3PL, Operations and Partner Services to ensure wholesale partners receive accurate, complete, compliant, and on-time shipments, during a period of rapid wholesale expansion.

Returns Management

  • Manage an efficient end to end reverse logistics process to optimize the handling of returns and exchanges.
  • Own SOP creation and hold 3PL partners accountable for accurate and timely dispositioning, refurbishment, restocking, and inventory updates.
  • Optimize the reverse logistics flow to reduce costs, improve product recovery through refurbishment, and manage inventory effectively.
  • Partner with Customer Experience, Partner Services, and Product teams to identify return trends, improve disposition logic, and provide feedback that improves the customer and product experience.

Scalability & Network Expansion

  • Support the development and execution of BRUNT’s long-term distribution network strategy, including future 3PL locations, multi-node inventory positioning, system readiness, cost modeling, operational SOPs owned retail support, new channel requirements and launch execution.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Technology, Customer Experience, and Partner Services teams to ensure new capabilities are launched on time, on budget, and with minimal disruption to the customer experience.

Systems & Reporting

  • Partner with 3PL, Technology and Operations teams to improve integrations, reporting, automation, and system workflows that support a more scalable distribution network such as the integration of EDI activities with our 3PLs WMS.
  • Identify process gaps, improve data accuracy, and build scalable reporting that gives the business visibility into distribution performance, capacity, service levels, and cost drivers.
  • Use data to identify root causes, build action plans, and drive measurable improvements across cost, speed, accuracy, and service.

Cost Management

  • Own 3PL cost management, including invoice review, rate card compliance, accessorial control, special project billing, and ongoing cost-per-order improvement.
  • Partner with Finance to track monthly distribution spend, explain cost drivers and/or changes, identify risks and opportunities, and support budget planning.
  • Develop initiatives that improve warehouse productivity, reduce avoidable costs, and support BRUNT’s broader fulfillment cost goals.

Cross Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Experience, Partner Services, Sales Operations, Logistics, Supply Planning, Growth & Retention Marketing and Product Teams to optimize the customer experience across, inbound operations, returns management, fulfillment and outbound distribution.
  • Partner with Finance and Planning on monthly forecasts to ensure warehouse(s) are properly staffed and can support order/unit volume through accurate monthly and 6 month forecasts.
  • Work closely with Logistics to monitor inbound receipts to ensure timely inventory restocking.
  • Lead through influence across internal teams and external partners, setting clear expectations, creating accountability, and building scalable operating rhythms as the distribution network grows.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 5+ years of experience in 3PL management, warehouse management, inventory management, or distribution operations, with multi-location experience preferred.
  • Experience working with WMS and ERPs, with NetSuite experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and improve 3PL relationships, ensuring adherence to SLAs and KPIs.
  • Strong understanding of small parcel, LTL/FTL, wholesale routing guides, retailer compliance, chargeback prevention, and customer-specific fulfillment requirements.
  • Experience managing 3PL budgets, invoices, rate cards, accessorial, and cost improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to proactively keep stakeholders informed.
  • Previous experience working in a startup or high-growth environment is preferred, demonstrating adaptability, agility, and the ability to thrive in dynamic settings with limited resources.
  • Proven experience working in data-driven environments and leveraging analytics to develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to use data to identify root causes, build business cases, influence partners, and drive operational change.
  • Experience supporting peak season planning, new warehouse launches, multi-node distribution strategy, or network expansion preferred.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with evolving processes, shifting priorities, and a high-bar for customer experience.
  • Ability to commute to our office in North Reading, MA 4x a week

In accordance with applicable salary transparency laws, we are providing the good-faith salary range for this position. This range reflects the base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this position at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered will depend on factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and budget.

The anticipated salary range for this role is:

Compensation
$120,000$145,000 USD
