Overview

Great opportunity to join our Marketing team for a 2 month temporary assignment. You will be responsible for executing strategic projects that touch the entire product portfolio including packaging updates and new packaging formats and sizes. A key part of your role will be serving as the interface between the brand and plant management at our company-owned and contract manufacturers. You will be highly engaged with cross-functional teams and work closely with the brand marketing, creative, legal/regulatory, procurement and operational teams. Your role will be critical to executing our strategic growth plans at Califia Farms.

Hybrid Work Environment: DTLA Arts District HQ: Tuesday through Thursday. Work from Home: Mondays and Fridays

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead change management in the organization as it relates to packaging refreshes and updates
  • Steward packaging changes throughout the organization including timelines, cost assessments, analyzing operational implications, manufacturing coordination, print vendor coordination and creative coordination.
  • Lead packaging project management including collecting packaging project inputs, partnering with stakeholders to secure and validate the necessary inputs to effectively execute the project, managing timelines, routing files for review, approving proofs and attending press checks
  • Manages every portion of the packaging approval process between internal and external partners, ensures alignment at every step of the design and activation process
  • Manage the packaging budget and ensures new packaging formats meet COGS targets
  • Function as the main contact to and quarterback execution of all packaging projects with third-party vendors (legal & regulatory agencies, packaging vendors, design agencies)
  • Partner with suppliers to ensure quality print expectations and on-time delivery of materials
  • Resolves or assists in the resolution of issues within and between projects or team; develops methods to monitor artwork project progress and resolve issues as necessary
  • Offer suggestions and implement process’ that help foster a more efficient and collaborative process for creation
  • Serve as organization lead on packaging routing tool for approvals
  • Project manage commercialization of pack-size changes including upsize and downsize initiatives
  • Partner with supply chain to execute sustainability packaging initiatives including structural and design improvements
  • Serve as the brand liaison on packaging to the co-man team for new location start-ups

Qualifications

Required Skills and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4-5 years of product commercialization experience in CPG, food and beverage
  • Packaging experience
  • Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe tools
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Wrike
  • Extensive budget and timeline management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Project Manager
  • Experience in packaging development and familiarity with various print capabilities and materials (flexo, litho, shrink sleeves) and operational/plant execution and processes
  • Knowledge of food regulations related to packaging and NFP development

The expected pay range for this position is between $50.00 - $60.00/hour based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills, and experience will be considered in setting the actual rate.
