Overview
The Production Utility Operator is responsible for operating all equipment for production and batching lines. Acts as the first point of contact for plant leadership, shift leads, and supervisor effectively communicating any potential issues and help maintain an orderly, sanitary, and safe environment. This position is also responsible for interacting and maintaining positive relationships with all visitors and management in a professional manner.
Responsibilities
•
Efficiently operate and perform changeovers on all packaging equipment across both lines, including Leads, Depalletizers, Blow Molders, Fillers, Sleevers, Case Packers, Palletizers, and Pallet Wrapping equipment.
•
Operate batching lines as needed, including coverage for batching and UHT operators.
•
Maintain and support factory OEE targets.
•
Complete daily production logs, RedZone entries, and required documentation accurately and on time.
•
Perform general housekeeping and basic maintenance of assigned work areas.
•
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe production environment.
•
Assist with staging and delivering materials to the production floor for current jobs and changeovers.
•
Work collaboratively with fellow operators to achieve safety, quality, and production goals.
•
Communicate operational issues and updates effectively with Plant Leadership.
•
Support Shift Leads and Supervisors as assigned.
•
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
•
Follow and support GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, LOTO, SOPs, and the Injury & Illness Prevention Program.
•
Help ensure safe working conditions for employees and visitors.
•
Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with employees, visitors, and management.
•
Partner with the QA department to ensure product quality and compliance.
•
Ensure products meet quality specifications and customer requirements.
•
Provide break and lunch coverage for operators as needed.
•
Perform the duties of regular operators as directed by Plant Leadership.
•
Support meeting or exceeding production schedules.
•
Efficiently start up and shut down production and batching lines.
•
Assist in covering vacations and vacancies across positions as needed.
•
Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Management.
Qualifications
•
High School Diploma or GED.
•
Experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment.
•
Ability to read, write, and speak English; Spanish a plus.
•
Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb stairs and ladders, and lift/move up to 50 pounds (up to 70 pounds as required).

Working knowledge of computers and manufacturing systems, including Microsoft Suite, Ross, Redzone, Excel, Markem, Pressco, and vision systems.
This position is classified as Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). The expected hourly rate for this position is between $25.00 – $33.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule. Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting the actual hourly rate.
