Since our founding in 1986, we have graded and authenticated millions of items. We employ more than 1,700 people across our headquarters in Santa Ana and offices in Jersey City, Seattle, Hong Kong, Paris, Shanghai, and Tokyo.

As we embark on our journey to reach the next million customers, we are seeking a dynamic and resourceful Manager of PR and Communications to spearhead our efforts in bringing our brand, benefits and products into the limelight.

We're excited to welcome our first dedicated Manager of PR and Communications to our team. We're looking for a tenacious and creative professional who thrives on the challenge of captivating both our existing customer base and the millions of collectors yet to discover the magic of PSA, PCGS and the family of Collectors brands. 

This role reports to the Senior Manager of PR, Social and Influencer Marketing, and work from our Santa Ana, California office. This role will have an optional hybrid schedule, which includes 3 days on-site.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Craft Compelling Communications Strategy: Develop a comprehensive communications strategy that not only deepens engagement and loyalty among our current customers, but also intrigues and appeals to collectors who haven't yet explored Collectors' offerings. Your mission is to bring in the next million customers through strategic storytelling and outreach.
  • Forge Media Relationships: Cultivate strong relationships with journalists, reporters, editors and influencers to ensure positive media coverage. This involves creating press releases, pitching captivating stories, coordinating interviews and adeptly handling media inquiries. Your reach will span from prominent mainstream media to specialized publications focusing on collecting and the hobby.
  • Build Influential Partnerships: Establish impactful spokespeople and influencer programs that effectively convey our core messages to the right audiences. Leverage these partnerships to amplify our brand presence and drive engagement.
  • Champion Product and Feature Awareness: Lead external promotion and awareness campaigns for new product launches and feature releases. Collaborate closely with the Product Marketing team to orchestrate impactful launches that capture attention and create excitement within the collector community.
  • Leverage Business Insights: Dive into business data to uncover trends and insights within the collecting industry. Transform these insights into captivating stories that resonate across owned and earned media channels.
  • Financial Communications: Handle financial communications with confidence, ensuring accurate and transparent communication with stakeholders.
  • Elevate Brand Visibility: Maintain a consistent presence in the media landscape, strategically sharing our narratives, strengthening our brand positioning and ensuring our company remains top-of-mind within the collector community.
  • Advocacy and Public Affairs: Represent Collectors' interests in public and regulatory forums, advocating for policies and initiatives aligned with our mission.

  • Collecting Enthusiast: You have a genuine passion for collecting, which allows you to speak from a knowledgeable position and engage credibly with experienced collectors, journalists and content creators in the hobby.
  • Strategic Communicator: You possess a track record of developing successful communications strategies that drive engagement and growth. Your communication skills extend to both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a clear and compelling message.
  • Relationship Builder: Your ability to cultivate and nurture relationships with media professionals, influencers and partners is second to none. You're a skilled negotiator and collaborator.
  • Innovative Thinker: You thrive on thinking outside of the box and devising creative approaches to captivate audiences and share our story.
  • Experienced Professional: Your background includes substantial experience (5 years +) in PR, communications and media relations, ideally within a consumer-focused or hobby-based industry.

As the Manager of PR and Communications at Collectors, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our brand's narrative, engaging collectors worldwide and driving our growth into uncharted territories. Salary Range: 

The salary range for this position is $101,000-$135,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
