We’re looking for a Senior Buyer to lead the procurement of injection molded components, raw materials, and services critical to the production process and supporting West Coast & Asia operations. As a Senior Buyer, you are accountable for executing strategic sourcing initiatives, managing supplier performance, and driving cost, quality, and delivery outcomes across multiple facilities. You will play a central role in new part introductions and product launches, partnering closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain to ensure readiness from tooling through to production ramp.

There will be up to 10% travel within the United States.

You’ll report to the Purchasing Manager and work from our Santa Ana, CA office headquarters.

Onsite Requirement:

This role requires you to be onsite in the office 5 days per week.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead sourcing activities for injection molded components, including RFQs, supplier selection, and contract negotiations

  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure performance against cost, quality, and delivery expectations

  • Execute cost reduction initiatives through resourcing, should-cost analysis, and commercial negotiations

  • Partner with engineering and operations on new tooling and part development, ensuring manufacturability and scalability

  • Project manage new part introductions and product launches from sourcing through production readiness

  • Coordinate across multiple facilities to align sourcing strategies and supplier utilization

  • Monitor supplier capacity, risk, and continuity planning to support operational stability

  • Maintain accurate system data (pricing, lead times, MOQs) to support planning and financial accuracy

  • Support procurement reporting, spend analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Collaborate with production planners and inventory control to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels, minimizing shortages or excess stock

  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams to ensure materials meet technical specifications and compliance requirements

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records in the ERP system (e.g. NetSuite) and generate reports to support decision-making

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements; maintain documentation for audits and traceability

  • Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and contribute to supply chain process improvements and supplier development efforts

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field

  • 6+ years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, bill of materials (BOM), and production scheduling

  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Demonstrated experience managing tooling programs and new product introductions

  • Excellent mathematics, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating pricing and supplier agreements

  • Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities across sites

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in multi-site manufacturing environments

  • Familiarity with plastics manufacturing processes and tooling lifecycle management

  • Exposure to supplier quality and development initiatives

  • Industry-specific knowledge or certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM, APICS)

  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement initiatives and/or ISO, AS, TS standards

  • Experience in global sourcing and international logistics

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $101,000. Actual compensation on this range varies based on a variety of non-discriminatory factors, including location, job level, experience, and skill set.
