We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Business Development to join our team, reporting to the Global VP of Pipeline Growth & Business Development. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Business Development Representatives tasked with generating new, qualified opportunities and pipeline for our Field Sales Team through inbound and outbound prospecting efforts in both new and customer accounts.

As a leader in our organization, you will work closely with the SVP & GM of APJ, the regional Sales VPs, and the wider APJ Leadership team to establish strong relationships and drive scalable strategies for growth. You will also collaborate with marketing, sales engineering, partnerships, and customer success teams to create effective account-based marketing strategies and develop outbound strategies.

The ideal candidate for this role will have a proven track record of success in building, training, and coaching sales teams, with experience managing managers. You should be hands-on and data-driven, with excellent interpersonal and team management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of Individual Contributors (BDRs) to drive performance and develop scalable strategies for growth.
  • Establish strong relationships with key partners, regional Sales VPs, and the wider APJ Leadership team.
  • Develop and execute personalized outbound prospecting efforts for the Enterprise market.
  • Establish metrics to drive performance and help team members improve their performance indicators.
  • Establish a rigorous hiring process to onboard A-players and provide continued education and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders, account executives, and marketing on strategies and campaigns.
  • Work with the Sales Operations team to monitor and improve core metrics around conversion rates and pipeline progression.
  • Report monthly/quarterly/yearly on sales metrics and achievements.
  • Oversee usage of team systems including Salesforce, Tableau, Outreach, and ZoomInfo.
  • Create a fun, high-energy environment where people love coming to work.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success leading a team of BDRs, including managing managers.
  • Experience in building, training, and coaching sales teams of 5+ people.
  • Hands-on experience with CRM software.
  • In-depth understanding of the sales administration process.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • Numerical abilities and problem-solving attitude.
  • Experience in a high-growth company going through an IPO is a plus.
