About the role:
Equip’s Research mission is to become a leader in eating disorder research. The core components of Equip’s Research mission are to be the go-to source for evidence based treatment, use empirical data to inform treatment and improve outreach, and conduct experiments to improve eating disorder treatment. To meet our objectives, our team conducts rigorous research to improve the treatment we provide our patients and to advance the eating disorder field.
We are seeking a passionate and qualified candidate for a postdoctoral research fellowship with the Equip Research Team. Fellows will work directly with the Equip Research Team in carrying out our mission to not only improve access to treatment for all patients with an eating disorder but to pioneer new research to improve long-lasting recovery. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who are academically trained but interested in a transition to industry.
This is a contractor appointment for one year from date of hire, with renewal for one more year contingent on evaluation of work performance.
Responsibilities:
- The Equip Research Team invites applicants for a postdoctoral research fellowship who will primarily train under the supervision of Dr. Dori Steinberg, VP of Research, and Dr. Jessica Baker, Senior Research Manager. There are also opportunities to learn from Equip’s Data Science Team and Clinical Leadership.
- The fellow will work with the Equip research team, which includes expertise in data science, nutrition research, psychology, and eating disorder treatment to meet Equip’s research mission and objectives. This includes internal testing of the effectiveness of the treatment we provide as well as external research studies designed to move the eating disorder field forward.
- The fellow will serve as a core member of the team primarily contributing towards meeting both team and company goals. Specific tasks related to meeting goals may include: evaluation of patient and program outcomes, data analysis and reports, literature and scientific review, manuscript preparation and submission, dissemination of research findings, assisting with grant and other types of proposals, and other tasks related to ongoing business needs.
Requirements:
- Earned doctorate or equivalent degree in psychology, public health, clinical science, behavioral science, nutrition, nursing, or other related field.
- Research interests aligned with the mission of Equip Health.
- Record of related research experience appropriate for a postdoctoral fellowship.
- Strong academic writing skills as evidenced by peer reviewed publications and conference presentations
- Knowledge of basic statistical tests, quantitative research, and research study design.
- Ability to work independently, excellent organization and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
Bonus if you have the following:
- Demonstrated experience in qualitative research methods
- Demonstrated experience conducting successful eating disorder research
- Experience using R, Python, or similar software to conduct statistical analyses
- Knowledge and experience conducting digital health interventions
- Passion for mental health and eating disorder treatment and expanding access to treatment
This is a contractor appointment for one year from date of hire, with renewal for one more year contingent on evaluation of work performance.
