About Etched
Etched is building the world’s first AI inference system purpose-built for transformers - delivering over 10x higher performance and dramatically lower cost and latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, intelligent, and flexible individual to support our PLM system running on Siemens Team Center, as well as our engineering CAD tools. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation and administration of the Team Center PLM and CAD ecosystem, including user account setup, roles and permissions, license planning and administration, and general user support. The role supports deployment of new features and integrations across engineering, cross-functional teams, and external partners as applicable, and includes testing, debugging, support of both test and production environments, and assisting engineers with training and effective use of PLM tools. This position also serves as a backup to the PLM Architect in managing contractors working on PLM development.

This role plays a critical part in scaling Etched’s PLM capability by handling tactical support and administration tasks, enabling architects and leadership to focus on strategic planning, integrations, and automation initiatives that improve engineering velocity, reduce cycle times, and strengthen operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first line of support for Team Center PLM and CAD user requests, including troubleshooting issues, answering how-to questions, and escalating complex problems when needed

  • Assist engineers and other employees with accessing and managing data in Team Center, including part and BOM setup and management, and change management workflows such as review and approval processes

  • Set up and maintain user accounts, roles, permissions, and other day-to-day administrative tasks as needed

  • Support CAD data management activities, including check-in/check-out workflows, versioning, release processes, and data integrity across CAD and PLM systems

  • Assist with basic configuration, feature debugging, and minor enhancements under the guidance of the PLM Architect

  • Execute unit testing and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for new features, integrations, and process changes

  • Validate PLM and CAD environments following upgrades, patches, or configuration updates

  • Manage CAD license administration, including license procurement, provisioning, and assignment for electrical and mechanical engineering tools

  • Partner with the PLM Architect and IT Infrastructure teams to support secure and efficient data collaboration with external partners and manufacturing suppliers, including supplier onboarding, access setup, and training coordination

  • Maintain clear documentation for standard operating procedures, user guides, and support workflows

  • Analyze design flows, implementations, testing, and related information to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance overall engineering capability and performance

You may be a good fit if you have

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

  • Familiarity with PLM concepts such as product structures, bills of materials (BOMs), change management, and lifecycle states

  • Exposure to MCAD and ECAD tools (e.g., Creo, NX, Solid Edge, Cadence, CATIA, or similar) and an understanding of how CAD data is managed within a PLM system

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical and process issues

  • Comfort working with structured systems, configuration rules, and documented processes

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-expert users

  • A detail-oriented mindset with an emphasis on data quality, consistency, and process adherence

  • Experience or training with Team Center PLM, particularly BMIDE, with familiarity with other PLM tools (e.g., SAP, ARAS) as a plus

  • Basic understanding of system integrations, APIs, or automation concepts

  • Experience supporting enterprise software users in a helpdesk, application support, or engineering tools role

  • Interest in growing into advanced PLM administration, configuration, or architecture roles over time

  • Familiarity with Jira tools for managing support tickets

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision packages with generous premium coverage

    • $500 per month credit for waiving medical benefits

  • Housing subsidy of $2k per month for those living within walking distance of the office

  • Relocation support for those moving to San Jose (Santana Row)

  • Various wellness benefits covering fitness, mental health, and more

  • Daily lunch and dinner in our office

How we’re different

Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.

We are a fully in-person team in San Jose and Taipei, and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
