About Etched
Etched is building the world’s first AI inference system purpose-built for transformers - delivering over 10x higher performance and dramatically lower cost and latency than a B200. With Etched ASICs, you can build products that would be impossible with GPUs, like real-time video generation models and extremely deep & parallel chain-of-thought reasoning agents. Backed by hundreds of millions from top-tier investors and staffed by leading engineers, Etched is redefining the infrastructure layer for the fastest growing industry in history.
Job Summary
Etched is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Global Inventory Analyst to own strategy for inventory controls and inventory accuracy across our global supply chain. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and up-to-date inventory visibility of all Etched assets located across internal and external locations. You will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and Field Operations to build scalable inventory processes, improve visibility, and support rapid growth of complex hardware systems.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of data, process, and execution and wants direct ownership of a mission-critical function.
Key responsibilities
Own global inventory visibility strategy across raw materials, WIP, finished goods, spares, and field inventory
Establish inventory segmentation (e.g., ABC, lifecycle stage, risk profiles) and corresponding management approaches
Own inventory accuracy, cycle counting programs, and reconciliation processes
Partner with Finance on valuation, reserves, write-offs, and audit readiness
Improve inventory visibility through ERP, WMS, and reporting tools; ensure data integrity and governance
Define and document global SOPs for inventory management and controls
Identify automation and system gaps; lead or support implementation of scalable solutions
Continuously improve inventory management processes as the company scales across products, regions, and volumes
You may be a good fit if you have (Must-have qualifications)
5-8+ years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, or manufacturing operations
Experience defining inventory management processes across multiple sites and regions
Strong understanding of inventory control, planning, and financial impacts.
Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and advanced spreadsheets
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Able to work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners effectively
Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets (lookups, pivots, basic modeling)
Ability to lead cross-functionally through influence
Strong candidates may also have experience with (Nice-to-have qualifications)
Experience in hardware, electronics, compute, or complex manufactured systems
Experience working directly with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and third-party warehouses
Experience scaling inventory processes in fast-growth environments
Experience in high-availability or mission-critical environments (e.g., compute, manufacturing, robotics, aerospace), especially supporting server, networking, or AI hardware deployments at scale
Comfort operating in ambiguity and leading through influence
How we’re different
Etched believes in the Bitter Lesson. We think most of the progress in the AI field has come from using more FLOPs to train and run models, and the best way to get more FLOPs is to build model-specific hardware. Larger and larger training runs encourage companies to consolidate around fewer model architectures, which creates a market for single-model ASICs.
We are a fully in-person team in San Jose (Santana Row), and greatly value engineering skills. We do not have boundaries between engineering and research, and we expect all of our technical staff to contribute to both as needed.
