About the role

Island is looking for a graphic designer who shapes how the company looks and sounds across everything we make. One day you are in the room with executives, turning strategy into a presentation that wins an investor. The next you are refining our brand identity, designing an ad campaign, or building the visual language for an event. Across all of it, you will help craft how Island uses AI in design, setting the approach the rest of the team follows.

What you'll do

  • Partner directly with executives to write and design presentations for investors, sales teams, and prospective customers. This is one of the most visible parts of the job.
  • Build polished decks in PowerPoint from the ground up, not just clean up someone else's slides.
  • Help craft and evolve the Island brand identity across every surface it touches.
  • Design for events, from booth graphics and signage to the full visual experience on the ground.
  • Develop ad campaigns that carry the brand into the market with clarity and edge.
  • Create internal branding that makes the company feel as considered on the inside as it does to customers.
  • Use AI tools to scale design output, speed up iteration, and free up time for the work that needs a human eye.
  • Shape Island's AI design strategy and processes. Figure out where AI belongs in our workflow, set the standards for how we use it, and keep improving them as the tools change.
  • Train and coach other designers on how to work with AI, so the whole team gets faster and sharper, not just you.
  • Design in Figma for everything from pitch visuals to brand systems and campaign assets.
  • Hold the line on quality and consistency across every asset that carries Island's name.

What you'll bring

  • 3 to 10 years of professional design experience, ideally in a fast-moving company or agency.
  • Deep fluency in Figma, plus command of the standard design toolkit (Adobe Creative Suite and similar).
  • Real expertise in PowerPoint. You can design directly in it and make it look like it never came from a template.
  • Fluency with AI design tools and a track record of using them to scale output. You know where AI accelerates the work and where it gets in the way.
  • A point of view on how design teams should adopt AI, and the ability to turn that into clear processes other people can follow.
  • Comfort teaching and coaching. You can bring other designers up to speed on tools and methods without making it feel like a lecture.
  • A strong portfolio that shows range across brand, campaign, event, and presentation work.
  • Experience working with executives. You know how to take direction, push back when it serves the work, and earn trust fast.
  • Sharp instincts for typography, layout, and visual hierarchy.
  • The ability to write, not just design. You can shape a headline and a through-line, not only the visuals around them.
