The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If the role is non-exempt, overtime pay will be provided consistent with applicable laws. In addition to the salary range listed above, total compensation also includes generous equity, performance-related bonus(es) for eligible employees, and the following benefits.

About the Team

The AI Deployment Management (ADM) team enables organizations to turn OpenAI products into real, sustained impact through world-class enablement and training execution.

Our mission is to help customers successfully adopt and operationalize AI across their organizations. We partner with enterprises to translate the potential of OpenAI’s technology into durable capability—through structured training, technical enablement, and scalable deployment programs.

By helping customers move from experimentation to production, the ADM team accelerates time-to-value, deepens product adoption, and helps make OpenAI indispensable to how organizations work.

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead, Builder ADM to lead a team responsible for enabling enterprise customers to successfully deploy and adopt OpenAI products in the Enterprise.

This role combines technical leadership, customer enablement, and people management. You will build and develop a team of AI Deployment Managers while shaping scalable enablement programs that help organizations operationalize frontier AI technologies across our existing and emerging product suite.

You will work closely with Sales, Technical Success, and Product teams to ensure customers are equipped with the knowledge, tools, and best practices needed to successfully deploy OpenAI products across their organizations.

In This Role You Will

Lead Customer Enablement

  • Own the technical enablement strategy for OpenAI’s products, including ChatGPT Enterprise, Codex, Agents, and APIs

  • Lead customer training and services across the full lifecycle—from onboarding to expansion and long-term adoption

  • Design and deliver high-impact engagements including enterprise onboarding, developer workshops, executive briefings, and technical bootcamps

  • Drive customer activation, sustained usage, and measurable business value through structured enablement programs

  • Develop scalable enablement assets, playbooks, and best practices based on patterns observed across customers

Build and Lead a High-Performing Team

  • Hire, onboard, and develop a team of Technical AI Deployment Managers

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to team members delivering enterprise enablement programs

  • Establish best practices for technical enablement delivery across regions and customer segments

  • Set clear goals and performance metrics aligned with customer adoption and product success

Drive Operational and Strategic Impact

  • Own deployment strategy for ADM engagements across enterprise customers

  • Identify patterns across customer deployments and translate insights into scalable enablement frameworks

  • Partner with product and go-to-market teams to incorporate customer insights into roadmap and strategy

  • Improve enablement tooling, operational processes, and program scalability

Managers in this role may also lead strategic enterprise enablement engagements, including executive briefings and advanced technical workshops.

Growth Path

This role is begins as a Lead, Technical ADM with a mandate to establish the global function and manage the first ~5 ICs hired. As the model proves impactful, larger teams, additional regions, and broad ownership of OpenAI’s developer adoption programs may be included in the scope. Success in this role positions the lead to influence how OAI scales expertise globally.

  • Have experience leading technical, customer-facing teams such as solutions engineering, technical success, developer relations, or technical enablement

  • Are comfortable explaining complex technical systems to both executive and developer audiences

  • Have strong technical depth across APIs, coding, agents, and AI systems

  • Understand how AI systems are deployed in production, including concepts like RAG, model evaluation, fine-tuning, and system tradeoffs

  • Have led technical trainings, workshops, or enablement programs for enterprise customers

  • Can connect technical capabilities to real business outcomes such as productivity, efficiency, and revenue impact

  • Thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy learning new technologies quickly
