About the Team
The Tax team is building a more scalable operating model for recurring tax work by combining strong tax judgment, practical systems thinking, governed AI usage, and lightweight automation. The team works across direct tax operations, tax systems, data handoffs, documentation, and operator workflows so that income tax work is easier to execute, review, and improve over time.
About the Role
We are looking for an income tax leader who is excited to use AI well, code lightly, and improve how direct tax work gets done. This role is designed for a strong income tax professional who is comfortable with structured problem solving, modern AI tools, and practical workflow improvement, but who does not need to be a full-time software engineer.
You will help turn recurring income tax work into better systems, better operator workflows, and better documentation. That includes using AI tools to accelerate analysis and drafting, building lightweight scripts and checks, improving data and file flows, and making income tax work easier to review, explain, and scale.
In this role, you will:
Designing and improving recurring direct tax workflows using AI tools, structured prompts, light scripting, and practical operator controls.
Using AI to accelerate income tax analysis, documentation, reconciliations, mappings, and exception handling.
Building and maintaining lightweight tools, templates, runbooks, and validation checks that reduce repetitive work.
Partnering with tax, finance, data, and technical teams to improve the flow of information across recurring tax processes.
Identifying workflow bottlenecks, data-quality issues, and manual rework drivers, then turning them into repeatable improvements.
Helping define when AI can safely speed up work and when human review, escalation, or additional controls are required.
Improving the quality of handoffs, documentation, and operator experience across direct tax workflows.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
8+ years of relevant tax experience.
Meaningful experience in income tax operations, income tax systems, or a closely related direct tax process role.
Comfort working with complex spreadsheets, structured data, reconciliations, and recurring close or reporting workflows.
Strong curiosity about AI tools and a practical sense of how to use them productively.
Ability to write or adapt light code or scripts to support workflow automation and validation.
Good judgment in controlled environments where quality, reviewability, and deadlines matter.
Strong communication skills and a habit of turning messy work into clear processes.
Interest in partnering across domain and technical teams.
Experience improving income tax workflows rather than only executing them manually.
Familiarity with process design, controls, or audit-sensitive environments.
Comfort with SQL, Python, or similar lightweight tooling.
CPA preferred.
