The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If the role is non-exempt, overtime pay will be provided consistent with applicable laws. In addition to the salary range listed above, total compensation also includes generous equity, performance-related bonus(es) for eligible employees, and the following benefits.

About the Role

As the Compute Capital Markets Leader focused on infrastructure, you will help shape and drive the strategic investment decisions behind OpenAI’s compute infrastructure. This is a highly cross-functional role, partnering closely with engineering, research, finance, and external partners to secure the infrastructure that powers our mission.

Capital Strategy & Financing

  • Translate compute demand, GPU procurement, data center development, and power infrastructure into clear, investable frameworks for lenders, investors, and strategic partners

  • Build durable financing architecture for hyperscale AI infrastructure—not just individual transactions, but repeatable long-term strategic advantage

  • Partner across Finance, Treasury, and Capital Markets to optimize capital structure, expand financing capacity, and reduce cost of capital

  • Develop innovative financing structures across debt, structured capital, partnerships, and alternative financing vehicles

Investment Planning & Decision Support

  • Build and maintain rigorous financial and investment models for highly structured infrastructure projects

  • Support compute strategy, capacity expansion, supply agreements, and capital allocation decisions across infrastructure investments

  • Develop frameworks for return on capital, deployment speed, risk, scalability, and long-term platform economics

  • Evaluate partnership opportunities that improve capital efficiency, accelerate deployment timelines, or create strategic infrastructure advantage

Capital Markets & External Engagement

  • Engage banks, institutional investors, infrastructure funds, and strategic capital providers to support financing execution

  • Develop investor materials, narratives, and data frameworks that translate technical infrastructure needs into capital markets language

  • Support negotiations with capital providers and infrastructure partners to secure optimal long-term outcomes

  • Synthesize complex financing decisions into clear recommendations for leadership and executive stakeholders

Cross-Functional Leadership & AI-Native Execution

  • Serve as the bridge between Compute, Finance, Treasury, Legal, IR, and leadership teams to align infrastructure strategy with capital strategy

  • Translate complex technical infrastructure requirements into actionable financial strategy and executive decision support

  • Bring an AI-native builder mindset by using OpenAI’s own products to improve workflows, forecasting, treasury operations, and financing execution

  • Build scalable internal tools and operating models—not just traditional finance processes, but AI-native ways of working

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience across infrastructure investing, private / growth equity, private credit, investment banking, or restructuring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. MBA/CFA helpful but not required

  • Experience with project finance, capital project and infrastructure financial analysis, large-scale investment projects

  • Demonstrated exceptionally strong analytical, financial modeling, and written and oral communication skills

  • Working knowledge of infrastructure investing is strongly preferred
