The Role

Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote, and you can work from home. Forever. To create the best experience for our new hire (you?!), this role requires that you be based in the Americas region.

At Oyster, we’re building a more equal world of work by enabling companies to hire talent anywhere. As an Inbound Business Development Representative (BDR), you are the front line of our revenue engine, owning the rapid response, qualification, and conversion of high-intent inbound leads into high-quality sales opportunities.

This is a fast-paced, high-velocity role where speed, precision, and conversion discipline matter. You will operate at the center of our GTM motion, turning interest into pipeline in real time, leveraging AI and automation tools to move faster and smarter. You’ll be supported by Sales, RevOps, and Marketing teams, with strong enablement, coaching, and modern tooling to help you develop into a high-performing SaaS sales professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond instantly to inbound leads with speed, clarity, and urgency.

  • Convert interest into meetings, ensuring strong speed-to-lead and booking rates.

  • Communicate value clearly via email, phone, LinkedIn, and AI-assisted messaging tools where applicable.

  • Maintain strong CRM discipline by accurately updating lead statuses, logging activities, and capturing detailed notes to ensure data integrity and pipeline visibility.

  • Feed real-time insights back to Sales & Marketing to improve lead quality, targeting, and conversion performance.

  • Own the lead handoff process, routing qualified opportunities to the appropriate subregions in accordance with established guidelines.

  • Provide detailed qualification notes prior to meetings, equipping Sales Executives with full context to run effective demos.

What we value:

  • Speed & urgency: You act fast on high-intent demand.

  • Qualification rigor: You ask sharp, relevant questions to assess fit and ensure only strong opportunities move forward.

  • Ownership: You take responsibility for results.

  • AI-first mindset: You embrace tools that increase speed, accuracy, and scale.

  • Resilience: You thrive in high-volume, high-change environments.

  • Collaboration: You elevate team performance through shared insights.

What will make you successful:

  • Strong ability to prioritize and respond in real time.

  • Confident, structured qualification skills.

  • Clear, persuasive multichannel communication.

  • Strong CRM discipline (Salesforce or similar).

  • Comfort using AI tools, automation workflows, and modern sales tech stacks.

  • Curiosity about SaaS, global hiring, and the future of work.

  • Experience with tools like Salesforce, Salesloft, Nooks, & Qualified chat.

What we’re looking for:

  • 6+ months in a customer-facing or target-driven role (sales, CS, recruiting, hospitality, etc.)

  • Experience handling high-volume, time-sensitive interactions with measurable outcomes.

  • Exposure to B2B tools is a plus, not required.

  • Interest in AI-enabled workflows and modern SaaS sales environments.

You'll also need

  • A reliable home internet connection (or be able to get one).

  • Fluent English language skills.
