The Role

Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote, and you can work from home, forever. To ensure optimal collaboration, this role requires you to be based within +5/-5 UTC.

As a Senior Analyst, Treasury & Risk Analytics, you will improve visibility into cash, working capital, and financial risk across the business. You will transform complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that enable faster, better decision-making across the Treasury, Risk, Payments, and Product teams.

This role sits at the intersection of Treasury and Data Analytics, combining financial analysis, forecasting, and business intelligence to strengthen cash flow visibility, improve forecasting accuracy, and enhance risk controls at scale.

You will work across ERP systems, banking platforms, and internal data sources to develop dashboards, improve forecasting models, and provide insights that directly inform leadership decisions. You will also contribute to automation and AI-enabled improvements in reporting, reconciliation, and forecasting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cash & Financial Analytics

  • Analyze cash flow movements, working capital trends, and liquidity drivers.
  • Identify patterns, anomalies, and emerging risks across billing, collections, and payments.
  • Translate financial and operational data into actionable insights for decision-making.

2. Cash Flow Forecasting & Modeling

  • Build and maintain short-term and long-term cash flow forecasts.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy through data-driven analysis and scenario modeling.
  • Partner with Treasury leadership to enhance visibility and the quality of planning.

3. Data Reconciliation & Integrity

  • Reconcile financial data across ERP, banking systems, and internal platforms.
  • Investigate and explain variances (timing differences vs true breaks).
  • Support improvement of reliable, consistent financial data sources.

4. Reporting & Dashboards

  • Develop and maintain dashboards covering:
  • Cash position and forecasts.
  • AR performance and collections.
  • Bad debt and exposure tracking.
  • Payment performance and failures.
  • Deliver clear, executive-ready reporting with insights and recommendations.

5. Product & Customer Risk Analytics

  • Analyze how customer behavior and product usage drive financial exposure.
  • Map customer lifecycle and product usage to cash flow and risk outcomes.
  • Partner with Product, Data, and Risk teams to:
  • Define required datasets and metrics.
  • Identify key risk drivers across segments and geographies.
  • Design data-driven controls and guardrails.

6. Automation & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort in reporting, reconciliation, and forecasting.
  • Support automation using tools such as SQL-based workflows, scripting, APIs, or internal tooling.
  • Apply AI-assisted methods to:
  • Improve data processing and reconciliation efficiency.
  • Enhance forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Surface early indicators of financial risk.

Core Requirements

  • 5–9 years of experience in Treasury, FP&A, Risk Analytics, or Financial/Data Analytics.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow mechanics and working capital drivers.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
  • Advanced SQL and strong Excel/Google Sheets modeling skills.
  • Experience with ERP or financial systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, banking platforms).
  • Strong ability to translate complex analysis into clear business insights.
  • Exposure to automation tools (Python, APIs, workflow tools) preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI tools applied to analytics or financial workflows is a plus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and prioritization skills.
