Calling aspiring or new managers!

Have you killed it in your IC role in sales & growth? Do you have a passion for coaching your colleagues and do they look to you for guidance? Then this role might be for you! 🙏

The Soho Segment & BDA team is killing it , so we’re looking for a new manager to join our team in Lisbon! 🇵🇹

We're looking for a person who is an entrepreneur at heart. Someone who sees that growth sales is a top priority and customer satisfaction as a highway to achieve this. You would agree that our people are the strongest assets to bring in and retain revenue. You have the passion for hiring, coaching and developing high potential hybrid sales people to make our Business Development Associate (BDA) team the most successful it can be. 🚀

For this, you’ll need to use your own experience on executing sales and customer retention strategies.

But first… tell me about the SoHo segment?

SoHo stands for Small Office, Home Office. Today these are companies with less than 10 FTE and represent almost 50% of our Pleo customer portfolio. We have a strong PMF across our markets & a strong brand in this segment.

Our commercial motion works in tandem with the product experience: we do product-led sales, onboarding and growth! We intervene strategically at the right moment for select customers that need it.

So.. tell me about the BDA team?

The BDA team (Business Development Associate) is a group of passionate, early career professionals, starting out their careers in sales and onboarding from our Lisbon hub. We work across our core markets, utilising technology and automation to serve our customers at scale.

The role is hybrid: we cover all the key stages of the early part of the customer lifecycle . From the moment they sign up to the moment they complete their onboarding, they are always seeking opportunities to engage and expand their use of Pleo. We are velocity sales specialists.

Our work day to day is a mixture of art and science: the data informs our process and focus while our skills and personality brings the art.

We believe you’ll thrive in this role if you 📣:

  • Are currently a level 8 or 7 in your competency 🤩
  • Have a strong track record in Growth Sales and are familiar with customer retention strategies in the SMB/velocity space sales🚀
  • High levels of EQ and empathy
  • You don’t shy away from picking up the phone and leading by example when needed
  • Have strong personal leadership inline to our company Values
  • You don’t need to have a proven track record in management, but we look for ICs that have taken on team lead responsibilities in hiring, coaching and developing people in their teams
  • Bonus points if you’ve held a manager position in an Inside sales or SDR team
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong organisational skills (ex. your CRM should be pristine!)
  • Ability to design processes at scale (ex. creating 1:many sequences or how to optimise processes)
  • Understand the importance of Stakeholder Management and can sell your own ideas to the business
  • Are a pro at handling our main tools: HubSpot, Metabase, Back Office …
  • An entrepreneurial flair: be it by founding a company before or being involved in some way - through MeetUps, conferences, or startups for instance
  • Fluency in English is a must and
  • We are looking for candidates proficient in German 🇩🇪or Danish 🇩🇰

What do we offer? 👀

  • Your own Pleo card (no more out-of-pocket spending!)
  • Lunch is on us - with catering in our Lisbon, Copenhagen and London offices or a monthly lunch allowance paid directly together with your salary in other markets 🍜
  • Private health insurance to ensure you’re fit in body and mind to do your best work
  • In Lisbon, we offer 25 days of holiday + your public holidays

Why join us?

Working at Pleo means you're working on something very exciting: the future of work. Our mission is to help every company go beyond the books. Pleo itself means ‘more than you’d expect’, and it’s been the secret to our success over the last 8 years. So it’s only fitting that we’d pass this philosophy onto our customers to help them make the most of their finances.

We think company spending should be delegated to all employees and teams, that it should be as automated as possible, and that it should drive a culture of responsible spending. Finance teams shouldn’t be siloed from the rest of the organisation – they should work in unity with marketing, sales, IT and everyone else.

Speaking of working in unity, our values tell the story of how we work at Pleo. We have four core values, the first of which is ‘champion the customer’, which means we address real pain points that businesses face. Next up is ‘succeed as a team’, which highlights how our strength lies in our diversity and trust in each other. We also ‘make it happen’ by taking bold decisions and following through to deliver results. Last but not least, we ‘build to scale’, creating lasting solutions that address today’s challenges and anticipate tomorrow’s needs.

So, in a nutshell, that's Pleo. Today we are a 850+ team, from over 100 nations, sitting in our Copenhagen HQ, London, Stockholm, Berlin, Madrid, Montreal and Lisbon offices —and quite a few full-time remotes in 35 other countries! Being HQ'd out of Copenhagen means we're inspired by things like a good work-life balance. If you don't work in the office with us, we'll help you set up the best remote setup possible and make sure you still have time to connect with your team.
