Payroll Manager:

We are seeking an experienced, detail oriented Payroll Manager. This role will be dedicated to managing all aspects of payroll operations for US payroll. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple entities and states, time card and hours management, payroll system set up and maintenance, payroll and tax compliance across multiple states and entities. This role reports to the VP of People Operations and will oversee one direct report.

  • Develops collaborative and respectful relationships

What You’ll Do

  • You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees within multiple states and entities.
  • Complete regular payroll and data audits ensuring data accuracy and compliance
  • Ensure accurate payroll tax deduction, filings and compliance with tax regulations, state/city paid family leave accounts, certain states worker’s comp and disability set up and compliance reporting
  • Maintains compliance to all US federal/state wage and hour laws related to payroll including minimum wage, paid leave, garnishments, leave of absence, and stock payments
  • Manages off cycle check run process partnering with accounts payable and ensuring accuracy and prompt payment of all checks
  • Serve as payroll subject matter expert within the people team, internal finance and accounting team and primary contact with US payroll provider
  • Partner with finance and accounting to provide reporting and proper reconciliation against payroll and employment tax
  • Lead implementation of international / global payroll provider transition
  • Proactively identify areas of process improvement within payroll operations and implement solutions to automate and streamline processes to be scalable and drive efficiencies while maintaining strong quality controls
  • Manage pay polices, earning and deduction codes setup and compliance with W2 reporting. Reporting expert. Generate payroll reports to various departments and compliance purposes, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Manage Year End compliance processes including W2, and Year End Audits
  • Manage payroll related tickets with ZenDesk platform and timely resolution to employee pay issues and questions
  • Grow and develop one direct report utilizing Reformation Values development tools

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. CPP preferred
  • 5+ years work experience including mulit-state payroll and tax
  • International payroll experience is a plus
  • Proven experience managing payroll for employees in multiple states / entities. Strong knowledge of payroll and taxation as well as deep knowledge of compliance and legal requirements
  • Hands on experience managing payroll, time and attendance and HRIS systems

Los Angeles based (hybrid work schedule at our Vernon office) highly preferred
