About the Role:

We're looking for an experienced technical leader to join our Remittance Platform team as Director of Engineering. In this role, you'll own, operate, and evolve the core systems and services that power our remittance engine. You'll define and guide a vision for the next-generation of these systems, working backward from multi-year product and business goals. You'll transform that vision into a strategy and plan, working with your teams to lead execution through a long-term roadmap. As a senior technical leader, you'll continuously improve our operational excellence, enabling and supporting our continued, rapid business growth.

You Will:

  • Promote technical innovation by enabling your teams to evaluate new technologies, tools, and processes
  • Lead on decisions related to Remitly's technical direction and strategy
  • Foster and grow the next generation of leadership and management talent across the company
  • Create a positive and rewarding environment for the team
  • Define and meet the hiring plan for the team, accounting for long-term needs

You Have:

  • 8+ years of technical leadership experience
  • 5+ years of managing multiple teams and domains
  • Experience hiring Engineering Managers and Principal Engineers
  • Examples of creating and operating platforms and large distributed systems
  • Experience working with executives to align technical goals with business goals

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $195,00-$250,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
