About the Role:

Remitly Financial Products (stewards of Remitly’s financial data) oversee the end-to-end data pipeline, from collection through reporting. They oversee the ledger, accounting automation, and treasury systems for all of Remitly. These are important parts of Remitly’s operations as these underlying systems fund all transactions and allow us to understand and control profitability, and scalably comply with money-sending regulations.

As the Principal Technical Program Manager for Financial Products, you will coordinate the integration of finance systems across the entire company. You will work with the business teams to understand their needs and coordinate the launch of a scaled, multi-product ledger system over multiple years, while many of the products it is being built to support, are in-flight. You will understand our Treasury, Accounting, and Reconciliation systems, and work with the most senior engineers at Remitly to facilitate design changes to our underlying data stores that eliminate manual effort and simplify our automation.

You will be responsible for project management for the entire Finance Products organization (schedule management, status reporting, intake, scope tracking, change management, dependencies, and risk management. You will also contribute to the evolution of centrally managed product planning and delivery frameworks.

You Will:

  • Coordinate the launch of a financial ledger system to support all of Remitly.

  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering and other partners to define the direction for our vNext Finance Data Platform (across Seattle and Tel Aviv locations).

  • Contribute to the evolution of scalable project management processes for all engineering teams at Remitly while also optimizing for the success of the Finance Product.

  • Help transform Finance Product Engineering into the most trusted engineering organization in the company.

  • Promote project management best practices and show leadership in this area.

  • Grow junior Technical Program Managers.

  • Report to the Director of Technical Program Management, with dotted line reporting to the Engineering Director of Finance Product.

You Have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of technical project management experience including leading development of reliable, available and scalable distributed systems (preferably related to big-data or financial systems).

  • Experience building great relationships with partners such as Product Managers, Analysts, Accountants or Data Scientists.

  • Experience building complex technical roadmaps with many dependencies across multiple VP level organizations and then accomplishing those plans.

  • Experience making difficult tradeoffs, balancing short and long-term priorities.

  • Experience mentoring Technical Program Managers up to Senior levels.

Compensation Details. The starting base salary range for this position is typically $144,000 - $180,000. In the U.S., Remitly employees are shareholders in our Company and equity is part of our total compensation plan.
