About the Role:

The Senior Accountant prepares journal entries, reconciles and maintains sub-ledgers to general ledgers, including investigation and resolution of discrepancies, analysis of trends and variances to expected outcomes; and prepares monthly activity reports for the assigned accounts and subsidiaries of Remitly.

This Senior Accountant will have these primary responsibilities:

This role will be focusing on the end-to-end accounting for a new Remitly product including but not limited to:

a. Accounting for daily incoming and disbursements

b. Bank reconciliations

c. Reconciliation and monitoring of customer liabilities and funds

d. Coordination with Accounting Products and Treasury for process alignment/ improvement

e. Participate in projects and automation initiatives

Requirements:

• 3 to 5 years of general accounting experience including cash reconciliation and flux analysis

• Background in Fintech company preferred

• CPA preferred but not mandatory

• Working knowledge of SQL

• Good excel skills, working knowledge of Power BI preferred

• Good problem-solving skills

• Willing to work on early morning shift (6am to 3pm)
