VP, Security Strategy
Snyk
Our Opportunity:
Snyk are excited to be looking for a visionary leader to serve as the architect of our security narrative and the connective tissue across our product ecosystem.
In this role, you won't just be managing a department; you will be the face of our company to the global security community and the internal driver of our technical security excellence. You will bridge the gap between high-level market trends and the deep technical work of our research labs, ensuring that our platform doesn't just solve today’s problems, but anticipates tomorrow’s threats.
What you'll do:
Act as the primary voice for the evolving threat landscape at Tier-1 conferences (Black Hat, RSA, OWASP), in media interviews, and with industry analysts.
Produce high-impact research reports, white papers, and keynote content that define the future of DevSecOps and AI Security.
Engage with C-level stakeholders at our largest customers to align our long-term roadmap with their strategic security needs.
Ensure that unique product lines (e.g., SAST, DAST, SCA, API Security) function as a unified platform with shared intelligence and a consistent user experience.
Establish and lead internal "Strategy Councils" to synchronize roadmaps across Engineering, DevOps, and Product, removing friction in the security-to-development pipeline.
Monitor the security market to identify gaps in our portfolio and opportunities for innovation or M&A.
Lead our Security Research & Labs team: This team is responsible for vulnerability discovery, proprietary threat intelligence, and zero-day research.
Ensure that research breakthroughs (new attack vectors, bypasses, or remediation logic) are rapidly integrated into our core product engines to maintain our competitive edge.
Oversee our participation in open-source projects and responsible disclosure programs.
What you bring:
15+ years in Cybersecurity, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. You have likely been a CISO, a Head of Research, or a high-profile Security Architect.
You are a master of "influence without authority" - you understand that a strategy is only as strong as its implementation.
You have a proven track record of breaking silos and aligning Engineering leads and Product Managers around a shared vision, even where those people do not report to you and have potentially conflicting priorities.
You possess a "hacker mindset" but operate with business logic. You understand that security must be an enabler of velocity, not a bottleneck.
You have deep familiarity with modern software development (CI/CD, Cloud-Native, LLM-integrated apps) and the specific vulnerabilities associated with them.

We care deeply about the warm, inclusive environment we’ve created and we value diversity – we welcome applications from those typically underrepresented in tech. If you like the sound of this role but are not totally sure whether you’re the right person, do apply anyway!
