Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative team is SPINS’ engine that drives pipeline and growth. We’re the first point of contact for potential customers, sparking conversations, identifying pain points, and setting the stage for strong, lasting partnerships.
Where You Fit In
SPINS’ Sales Organization is structured into key segments—SMB, Mid-Market, Enterprise, and Channel Partners—all of which play a vital role in shaping the natural and specialty retail space. As an Inbound Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be at the forefront of lead generation, engaging with prospects who have shown interest in SPINS.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Convert, qualify and nurture leads from marketing campaigns into sales qualified opportunities
- Prospect into leads through a variety of channels including outbound calls, email, social, Drift and others
- Craft and deliver tailored messaging and content to prospects
- Present SPINS to potential clients
- Conduct qualification meetings with new prospects
- Harvest new accounts and leads via trade partners and other lead sources
- Aid in converting "Freemium" product sign-ups and broaden interest within Accounts
- Manage AE handoff process within prescribed SLA’s
- Accurately enter, update, and maintain daily activity and prospect information in Salesforce and other tools
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- BS/BA Degree in Business, Marketing or related degree
- 1+ years of experience with a Retailer, Distributor, Broker or Manufacturer
- 1+ years of experience in BDR or account/relationship management
- 1+ years of experience using data, insight and visualization
- Prior experience working with AI-driven tools and technology to drive and convert leads
- Business and commercial acumen
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Manager or similar role
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
- Track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas
- Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and Sales Engagement Platforms (e.g. Outreach.io, Salesloft)
- Understanding of sales performance metrics
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to conduct prospect discovery
The following is strongly preferred:
- Prior experience working with CPG sales is a plus
Hiring range: $60,000 base with a $15,000 commission potential.
