Description

Job Purpose: The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for supervision of sanitation staff and assisting production team members during scheduled clean-ups on food processing lines and equipment. Position will be responsible for ensuring timely and adequate cleaning according to specifications. Position will ensure the set-up and implementation of the Master Sanitation schedule.

Essential Functions include the following.

  • Ensure proper Good Manufacturing Practices are followed by all sanitation employees Ensure Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures are Followed
  • Work with Quality Assurance to insure Pre-Operational Inspection issues are addressed
  • Develop/validate cleaning procedures
  • Set up and implement Master Sanitation Schedule
  • Order and monitor cleaning supplies to ensure quality, safety and cost effectiveness
  • Monitor and record chemical usage
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Supervise the sanitation staff to ensure thorough understanding and application of sanitation and safety requirements including but not limited to training and development
  • Communicating with other departments to prioritize the sanitation schedule.
  • Work within the Sanitation Department as a functioning team member performing duties assigned to Sanitation
  • Complete employee reviews for sanitation employees
  • Ensure proper staffing needs are met to ensure sanitation is completed in a timely manor
  • Complete the daily completion reports, master sanitation schedule, SSOP reviews and all associated paperwork.
  • Communicate any issues with the proper managers and supervisors
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed by all sanitation employees as set forth by Stella & Chewy’s.
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for the team and making the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager aware of any equipment or personnel safety issues.

Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree
  • 2+ years’ experience in a plant/sanitation supervisory capacity
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities
  • Knowledge of sanitation chemicals and environmental swabbing practices and procedures
  • Basic math and computer skills required
  • The ability to communicate and understand verbal directions effectively and efficiently in the English language, both verbal and written.
