Description
Job Purpose: The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising production staff and tracking and monitoring staff training and alignment with department goals. This position organizes and monitors department workflow to meet production standards including completion of all production documentation. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring staff compliance with Safety and Quality procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Completes daily production schedule, scheduling and assigning personnel to designated areas, establishes production priorities; monitors progress; revises schedules as needed or when feasible, reports results on shift production pass down summaries daily.
- Monitors line start-up time to ensure lines are running within 10 minutes of shift start, documents all down time, determining cause(s) and escalates maintenance issues as needed to maintain productivity.
- Tracks employee attendance daily.
- Completes hourly walks through production area to hold staff accountable to production expectations; records numbers and takes action if numbers are not in alignment with goals.
- Track material usage ensuring all materials are consumed at time of use, waste is tracked including source of waste.
- Maintains a culture of Safety and Quality and ensures compliance with all SOPs for safety, quality and procedure.
- Investigates safety issues; participates in process to identify solutions; and takes necessary actions to ensure proper resolution of the problem.
- Escalates issues to Production Management when solutions or answers cannot be found.
- Ensures all team members are properly trained on all production equipment, safety practices, and quality processes.
- Provides leadership to team, communicates job expectations; monitors and evaluates performance; coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees; enforces policies and procedures.
- Assists HR, Training and Production leaders with identification and development for bench strength to promote employee engagement and maintain a positive plant culture.
- Participates in continuous improvement projects to solicit buy-in from plant staff, promote project objectives, and help to drive change management.
- Serves as back up to Production Manager.
- Aligns, adheres to, promotes, and supports all Stella and Chewy’s policies, procedures, and practices.

Skills & Abilities
- Associates Degree
- 2+ years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in food manufacturing is ideal.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
