The CDL Driver – Logistics is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of raw materials, finished goods, and equipment between company facilities, suppliers, warehouses, and customers. This position supports daily manufacturing operations by ensuring product integrity, maintaining regulatory compliance, and delivering exceptional service while operating company-owned transportation equipment.

This is a home-daily position that plays a vital role in supporting Stella & Chewy's transportation and logistics operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company policies.
  • Complete local deliveries, pickups, and transfers between company facilities, suppliers, warehouses, and customers.
  • Perform trailer staging, trailer swaps, and internal transportation support activities.
  • Support internal trailer movements using company tractors, yard equipment, and other fleet vehicles as needed.
  • Complete pre-trip, in-route, and post-trip inspections and report maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Operate Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs) and maintain accurate transportation documentation.
  • Verify refrigerated trailers are operating within required temperature specifications to maintain product integrity.
  • Maintain accurate DOT records and comply with all Hours-of-Service regulations.
  • Communicate transportation updates, delays, or equipment concerns with internal departments and external partners.
  • Maintain flexibility to support changing production schedules and transportation priorities while delivering excellent internal customer service.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Schedule: Thursday – Saturday | 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM | Every Other Wednesday (3-4 Rotating Schedule)

Reports To: Shipping & Receiving Supervisor

Works Closely With: Shipping & Receiving Leads, Material Handlers, Shipping & Receiving Coordinator, Production, Planning, Customer Service, Purchasing, Quality, Inventory Control, Fleet vendors, Carriers, and Third-Party Logistics (3PL) partners.

Daily work assignments and transportation priorities may be coordinated by Shipping & Receiving Leads to support operational needs.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Current DOT Medical Certificate.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of verifiable Class A commercial driving experience.
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transporting refrigerated or temperature-controlled products.
  • Experience working within food manufacturing or consumer packaged goods (CPG). Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.
  • Experience using fleet management, GPS, or transportation management software (TMS).

Working Conditions

This position primarily works in a transportation and warehouse environment, with frequent travel among company facilities, suppliers, warehouses, and customers. Drivers are exposed to varying weather conditions and will occasionally work around refrigerated trailers and temperature-controlled environments. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required when entering designated production or warehouse areas. Compliance with all company safety, food safety, and transportation policies is required.
