About the team
In this role, you'll be joining the Retail team. The Retail team spans across 7 brick and mortar showrooms and over 40 Nordstrom locations, all crucial to supporting our customers. This team specializes in looking at the diverse needs of our customers and uses their expertise to meet people where they are, guide them where they want to be, and seamlessly solve problems along the way. Our retail team ensures our customers have the support they need to become the best version of themselves.
What you'll do
To further this important mission, we are looking for an engaging Showroom Manager to help us drive sales performance while delivering an exceptional customer experience.. The team member will partner with the Retail leadership to develop a high performing team, execute operational excellence, and achieve showroom performance goals. . In this role, you will focus on executing processes and procedures that ensure the showroom exceeds performance targets, and maintains brand consistency. This role will be based out of our San Diego Showroom.

  • Model exceptional selling behaviors on the floor, leading by example in customer engagement, product knowledge, and closing techniques

  • Partner with associates on personalized follow-up and client outreach to build repeat business and long-term customer relationship

  • Coach associates in real time on the floor, using observation and immediate feedback to sharpen selling skills and build confidence in every customer interaction

  • Develop and run sales contests, incentives, and recognition programs that reinforce a results-driven culture

  • Set and communicate clear daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals, holding associates accountable to individual and store targets through regular check-ins

  • Understand and communicate The Black Tux’s values and brand philosophy to customers and staff

  • Manage all scheduling, operations, budgeting, planning, and visual merchandising

  • Develop and ensure procedures are followed to protect the company’s inventory and assets as well as all activities related to risk management and safety

  • Balance operational responsibilities with a relentless focus on sales

Who You Are

  • You have 2-4 years of retail sales management or customer experience

  • You have a track record of driving sales results and hitting or exceeding targets

  • You're experienced in hiring and managing a team

  • You are an innovative, positive, proactive team player

  • You are highly effective in written and verbal communication

  • Proficiency on Apple products including Macbook and Ipad

  • Previous experience with Shopify

  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training, company conferences, or to support store launches

  • You love having tons of fun at work, and you're unafraid of putting in long hours when necessary

  • You have experience working in menswear and/or a startup, preferably

  • You describe yourself as kind, collaborative, and creative. You know ownership is more than a responsibility; it's about taking pride in your work and accountability for any success or failure. Salary Range
The Store Manager role is an onsite position.
The base salary range for this position will be $65,000-$82,000. Compensation may vary based on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and location. The Black Tux defines compensation plans using market data aligned with comparable companies at a similar stage and size as ours.
