About this role:

As a member of Udemy’s Performance Marketing team, you’ll contribute to the mission of improving lives through learning by reaching and engaging with learners and organizational buyers through paid marketing channels to help them discover and experience how Udemy’s breadth of learning solutions can empower and transform individuals, teams and organizations to help them achieve their goals.

As the Media Planning Marketing Manager, you'll be instrumental in refining our media strategy and driving performance across paid marketing channels. In this highly analytical and strategic role, you will focus on optimizing our paid omni-channel funnel and implementing successful paid media strategies aligned with our customers' journey and business objectives. Your focus on generating actionable insights through rigorous reporting and analysis will be key to optimizing our paid marketing performance. With a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making, ROI optimization and integrated marketing collaboration, your contributions will lead our performance marketing efforts to new heights.

What you'll be doing:

  • \nOmni-channel Strategy: Develop strategies and plans to optimize and enhance Udemy's paid media omni-channel flow in alignment with our customers' journey, messaging and positioning strategy. Identify new opportunities and tactics to diversify our media mix, including new channel research, evaluation and testing.\n
  • \n
  • Media Planning & Budget Management: Contribute to the quarterly paid media plan development of spend budgets by business segment and channel, based on campaign strategy, business objectives, and expected channel performance. Recommend within-quarter budget adjustments based on channel performance and progress towards goals. Track and monitor spend pacing against budgets for D2C and B2B channels.

  • Reporting, Insights & Analysis: Generate reports, dashboards and analysis to derive insights about our paid marketing efforts. Analyze data to assess the impact of media efforts on pipeline and revenue generation. Translate data analysis into actionable insights and recommendations for both performance optimization and media planning strategies.

  • \nRoot Cause Analysis: Investigate and understand the underlying causes of performance trends, changes, fluctuations and anomalies. Utilize data analysis to diagnose issues, propose solutions, and make data-backed recommendations for improvement.

  • \nFunnel Optimization: Gain an in-depth understanding of our demand generation funnel. Propose paid media strategies to enhance funnel conversion rates, drive revenue growth and maximize ROI.
  • \n
  • \nIntegrated Marketing & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Campaigns, Creative and Channel teams to execute tactical paid media plans that support integrated campaigns aligned with business objectives and to optimize the paid program performance. Maintain open lines of communication with cross-functional teams to gather feedback, align on goals, and share insights.

  • \nAttribution and Measurement: Work closely with the Data Science team to develop and refine a holistic measurement framework that includes short, medium and long term performance metrics to guide our Media Mix optimization.

What you’ll have:

  • 5+ years of experience in paid performance marketing and media planning. Analytics certifications preferred
  • \n
  • In-depth knowledge of digital advertising channels, trends, and best practices
  • \n
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data and a strong understanding of measurement concepts (like attribution)
  • \n
  • Proficiency in Salesforce reporting and dashboard creation, Excel data analysis and data visualization tools. Tableau experience preferred
  • \n
  • Self-motivated, excellent communication and presentation skills, well organized with strong project management skills, great attention to detail, proactive, results obsessed with a passion for driving continuous improvement
