What we’re looking for:

Sift is seeking a analytical, process and detail-oriented Sales Operations Analyst with a focus on Compensation and Planning. In this role you will serve as a member of Sift’s Sales Operations team and work closely with the Finance team, with a focus on sales compensation operations, calculations, process standardization, metrics and analysis, and communications. On the strategic side, you will provide valuable insight and help Sift iterate and innovate it’s sales compensation plans, blending traditional SaaS compensation and consumption-based compensation models. On a day to day basis, you will be responsible for managing and executing our incentive compensation plans across all field roles. Aside from owning compensation administration and contributing to the compensation strategy and design process, you will also assist with other strategic planning initiatives including but not limited to annual capacity planning and territory design.

What you’ll do:

  • Support Compensation Planning Process: leverage research, reporting, and analysis to support the compensation planning and design process to ensure plans incentivize the right behaviors while being fair to both the individual and the company.

  • Manage policy, process and tooling: help develop and document sales compensation policies and standardize and streamline related processes and tooling. Assist with quota setting and own letter generation, statement generation, and commission calculations.

  • Run the program: ensure accurate and timely payments to field employees by executing the quarterly commission process. This includes setting up participants; compiling data; calculating commissions; performing audits; and reviewing commission costs and payments.

  • Represent the program: become the subject matter expert on Sift field compensation plans, and assist with trainings, communications, inquiries; and fielding exception requests

  • Perform ad hoc analysis: perform quota- and comp-related ad hoc analysis as needed for Sales Operations and Finance teams. Work with large, complex data sets and synthesize the derived findings into actionable insights.

  • Reporting & Insights: Standardize and monitor reports to support daily operations and drive accountability. Derive insights from data and analysis to provide strategic recommendations.

  • Project Management: Efficiently execute projects and communication plans to ensure all stakeholders understand project scope, delivery dates and ongoing progress of projects Take initiative to determine areas of improvement across the business

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Understand business problems and collaborate with key stakeholders across Sales, Partnerships, Finance and Marketing to identify solutions.

What would make you a strong fit:

  • 3+ years of experience in a quantitative sales operations, compensation, or financial role in an enterprise software company

  • Experience administering and owning day-to-day operations of incentive programs; participation in plan design a plus

  • Demonstrated success owning and performing quarterly commission calculations, quota setting, and attainment reporting

  • Advanced analysis and Excel skills (SQL experience a plus); experience with a SaaS tool for incentive compensation a plus

  • Adept at building and maintaining strong cross-functional working relationships

  • Familiarity with revenue recognition a big plus, especially in usage-based/consumption-based business

  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce.com platform with the ability to build custom reports

  • Self-starter mentality with a high degree of follow-through

  • Ability to thrive in an action-oriented, fast-paced and dynamic work environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
